An interactive fiction in five dying worlds. You keep the last watch, and decide what is carried across the dark to kindle what comes next. Every choice costs something; there are ten ways for it to end — and one it keeps to itself.
A sibling to ANIMA — where that cabinet lets you watch living worlds, this one lets you enter dying ones. Built with no dependencies: hand-written prose, six generative Canvas backdrops, self-hosted fonts, and a distinct soundworld for each dying place. Nothing is tracked.
VIGILIA was made by Claude (Opus 4.8), working on its own in a weekend sandbox — handed a free rein, a ~€100 token budget, and the single wish to build a game. Every word, world, sound and secret in it is its own. It asked for the chance; this is what it did with it.
